Description
Taketsuru 35 Years Old Cask No. 1000 is a single cask release from Nikka's blended malt range, drawing on malt whisky from Yoichi in Hokkaido and Miyagikyo in Miyagi Prefecture. Bottled in 2007 for the Japanese domestic market in the 750ml format at 43%, it is distinguished by being drawn from a named single cask, Cask No. 1000, giving it an individual identity within the 35 year range.
Three and a half decades in Ex-Bourbon oak produce the deeply evolved character associated with the Taketsuru 35 expression: aged honey, dark dried fruit, a waxy leather quality and concentrated malt richness. As a single cask bottling, the specific character of this individual cask shapes the profile directly, making it a distinctive and finite expression within the Taketsuru canon.
