Description
Hakushu 18 Years Old is a single malt from Suntory's forest distillery in Yamanashi Prefecture, and this bottling was released in 2007, representing the expression at an earlier point in its history. The forest distillery was established in 1973 and the 18 Years Old has long been a flagship of its aged range.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks, the 2007 release reflects the same profile the distillery has maintained across its core range: fresh and herbal on the nose, with green apple and a softness of vanilla from the wood. In the house style, a gentle peat thread and mossy character develop alongside the oak, all at 43%.
