Description
Hakushu 18 Years Old Cask Strength is a single malt from Suntory's forest distillery in Yamanashi Prefecture, released here at 48% for events with no dilution from the cask. The higher ABV presents the spirit at a more intense pitch than the standard 43% core release.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks over eighteen years, the distillery's signature fresh fruit and coal-gas smoke are given greater presence at cask strength. The green, herbal and lightly mineral notes that define Hakushu remain, but the increased ABV adds weight and a fuller texture on the palate, making this a more assertive expression of the forest distillery's character.
