White Oak 2015 Akashi HY (Hideo Yamaoka)

White Oak 2015 Akashi HY is a single cask single malt from Eigashima Shuzo, distilled at the Hyogo distillery in 2015 and selected by the independent bottler Hideo Yamaoka for a Japan domestic release in 2018. At 3 Years Old and bottled at cask strength 61.5% in a 500ml format, it is one of the earlier entries in the Hideo Yamaoka series of Akashi single cask bottlings that helped define the independent bottler's relationship with the distillery.

Ex-Bourbon maturation over three years at a very young age typically produces a spirit that is clean, grain-forward and fresh, with vanilla and cereal notes from the cask sitting alongside the new make character. With no flavour profile noted for this specific cask, the expression is expected to reflect the house style of young Eigashima malt: light, direct and transparent, preserved at full intensity by the cask strength bottling.
