Eigashima Shuzo White Oak Takumi is a blended whisky from the Hyogo distillery, released as a European export expression in a 500ml format at 40%. The Takumi designation, meaning artisan or skilled craftsperson in Japanese, positions this as a step above the base blend in the White Oak range. As with other Eigashima blends, some component spirit may be sourced.
Where the standard White Oak blends rely on Ex-Bourbon alone, Takumi adds Oloroso sherry cask maturation to the mix, which typically brings dried fruit, a richer colour and a layer of spiced sweetness over the vanilla and cereal baseline.
