Description
White Oak Akashi is a single malt from Eigashima Shuzo, whose Hyogo distillery holds Japan's oldest whisky licence, dating to 1919. This 3 Years Old expression is bottled at cask strength 50%, releasing it without reduction directly from Ex-Bourbon wood, and represents the kind of small-batch, early-release work that has defined the Akashi range.
Ex-Bourbon maturation at this young age draws out vanilla and light cereal notes typical of the house style, with a fresh, spirit-forward character that the mild coastal climate of Hyogo allows to develop quickly. The cask strength bottling preserves the full texture and grain-driven immediacy of the new make, making it a transparent and honest expression of what Eigashima produces.
