Description
Togouchi 15 Years Old is a blended whisky produced by Chugoku Jozo in Kure, Hiroshima. The producer is best known for ageing its stocks inside a former railway tunnel, where consistent underground temperatures slow maturation and allow the spirit and wood to settle into a steady dialogue over time.
At fifteen years old and 43.8%, this is the top of the standard Togouchi age-statement range. Ex-Bourbon casks are the foundation, contributing vanilla, light dried fruit and soft oak in the house style. The blend draws on both domestic and sourced stock, and the extended maturation rounds out any youthful edges, leaving a smooth and approachable whisky with more presence than the lower-strength expressions in the lineup.
