Description
Chita is Suntory's dedicated single grain distillery, opened in 1972 on the Chita peninsula in Aichi Prefecture. Its column stills produce a range of grain spirit types, from light to heavy, that form the backbone of Suntory's blend range while also standing alone as a bottled single grain.
This global release draws on both Ex-Bourbon and Oloroso cask maturation, giving vanilla and cooked fruit alongside a mild citrus note, with hints of new wood and a subtle, vegetable-tinged earthiness. The Oloroso adds gentle warmth without overwhelming the grain's characteristic delicacy, arriving at an approachable 43%.
