Description
Chita is Suntory's single grain distillery, established in 1972 on the Chita peninsula in Aichi Prefecture. Running multiple column stills to produce light, medium and heavy grain spirit, it supplies the grain backbone for Hibiki and is bottled solo here as a Japanese market release at 43%.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks in the house style, the liquid delivers the clean, sweet character typical of Chita grain: honey, fresh vanilla and mild American oak, with a delicate citrus lift and a smooth, easygoing finish that reflects the distillery's purpose-built lightness.
