Ichiro’s Malt Double Distilleries 2021

Ichiro's Malt Double Distilleries 2021 is a blended malt that pairs Chichibu distillery in Saitama, the small-batch flagship of Venture Whisky, with Mars Shinshu in Miyada, Nagano, the high-altitude site operated by Hombo Shuzo and known for its clean mountain character under the Komagatake brand. The collaboration marks a pairing of two very different Japanese terroirs, one low-land and fruit-forward, the other alpine and precise, in a single expression released for the global market.

Both contributions were matured in Ex-Bourbon casks and the blend was bottled at 53% cask strength. The flavour profile spans dried fruit and honey richness, bright citrus and a leathery warmth that brings additional complexity. Together the two distilleries produce a blended malt that is more structured and varied in character than either house would deliver alone.
