Each year La Maison du Whisky selects casks from Chichibu to produce the Paris Edition, a single malt Ichiro's Malt bottling released for the French market and associated tasting events. The 2022 edition is a no age statement release from Venture Whisky's Saitama distillery, founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto and now one of the most sought-after addresses in Japanese single malt.
Bottled at cask strength 51.5% from Ex-Bourbon maturation, this release leans into the house style that the distillery's small pot stills and careful distillation deliver: vibrant fruit, clean grain sweetness and a supple vanilla character drawn from the American oak. Without flavour data on record for this bottling, the Ex-Bourbon casks point toward fresh and tropical fruit, honey and gently spiced wood, the hallmarks Chichibu consistently produces at this proof range.
