Description
The Shibazakura Flower Festival edition takes its name from the pink phlox blooms that carpet the fields near Chichibu each spring, a seasonal celebration closely tied to the distillery's home in Saitama. Distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2025 as a single cask cask strength release for France, it comes from Venture Whisky's craft site founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2008.
Matured in a single Ex-Bourbon cask over seven years, the wood shapes the spirit in the house fashion: vanilla, sweet orchard fruit and soft cereal warmth. The name and French market destination suggest a festive character, and while specific flavour data is absent, Ex-Bourbon at this age from Chichibu consistently delivers clean, fruit-forward drinking. Bottled at 61% cask strength, it is a vivid and lively single barrel release.
