Cask number 6066 is a 2016 vintage Chichibu single malt in the 7EVEN Gods of Fortune series, drawn from an Ex-Bourbon barrel and bottled in 2022 at 62.6% for an event release. Chichibu distillery in Saitama prefecture was founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto of Venture Whisky, and the Gods of Fortune series is one of the most recognisable lines in the distillery's event only catalogue, drawing on individually selected casks from each year's production.
Six years in an Ex-Bourbon barrel gives vanilla, soft caramel and warm spice from the American oak, while Chichibu's typically vibrant fruit-forward new make character provides the orchard brightness and cereal depth that the distillery is known for.
