The 7EVEN Gods of Fortune series from Chichibu Distillery in Saitama draws on the seven deities of Japanese luck mythology, with each release dedicated to one of the gods. Edition 6 honours Daikokuten, the god of wealth and the harvest, with a single cask distilled in 2015, matured nine years in Ex-Bourbon wood and bottled in 2024 at 61.9% for the European market.
Nine years in bourbon barrel has brought Chichibu's 2015 new make to a generous level of development: vanilla, fresh apple and light caramel from the American oak weave through the distillery's characteristically vivid orchard fruit, and the longer maturation gives a rounded finish with lingering warmth. As a themed collector's release for Europe, it blends Chichibu's commitment to quality single casks with a presentation that speaks to Japanese cultural tradition.
