Cask #3814 was distilled at Chichibu in Saitama in 2014 and selected by La Maison du Whisky for bottling in 2021 at 63.9% for the French market. La Maison du Whisky has been a long-standing partner for Chichibu single cask releases, offering French and European collectors access to individual barrels from one of Japan's most followed craft producers.
Seven years in Ex-Bourbon wood has given the 2014 new make time to integrate and develop: vanilla and toasted grain from the American oak are well-woven into the fruit-forward character that defines Chichibu, and at 63.9% the spirit has both concentration and length. The French market selection reflects the deliberate curation that La Maison du Whisky applies to its Chichibu programme.
