This single cask, selected for Velier, takes a four year Hampden and finishes it in sherry, layering the distillery's loud pot still character with savoury cask influence.
Distilled from molasses on the double retort pot still and bottled at a powerful 64%, the sherry cask pulls the profile toward meaty, umami territory. The aroma is intense ester, sherry and a meaty edge, the palate brings tropical fruit, ester, dry wood and that umami weight, and the finish stays estery and dry with young wood and red fruit.
