Rum Nation Grays

Rum Nation, the Italian house known for its regional bottlings and two-stage ageing, selected this six-year molasses rum from Grays in Mauritius. It is a molasses-based rum rather than the island's cane-juice agricole, matured in ex-bourbon oak and presented at a sociable 43%.

The character is soft and fruit-led, with dried fruit, apple and red fruits on the nose, then a woody palate carrying allspice, dried fruit and red berries. The finish stays on red fruit and oak. Listed without added sugar, it leans on its own fruity, lightly spiced profile rather than richness, an approachable aged Mauritian rum that shows Rum Nation's preference for balance and drinkability over weight, easy to enjoy neat.
