Old St. Croix Orange Grove

Old St. Croix Orange Grove is a flavoured Caribbean rum built around bright citrus, carrying no age statement and bottled at 40%. It makes no secret of being a sweet, fruit-led style, the orange and spice forward from the first sniff, and it is best understood as a festive, dessert-leaning pour rather than a dry sipping rum.

The nose is fruity and sweet, orange and citrus lifted by cinnamon and a hint of Christmas spice. The palate stays warm and medium-spiced with plenty of citrus fruit, sweet throughout, while the finish turns oily and sweet with orange and a spicy edge. Honesty is due here, this is a sugared, orange-flavoured rum, closer in spirit to an orange liqueur than to an aged molasses spirit.
