Oliver & Oliver Quorhum Origenes Sistema Solera

Quorhum Origenes is a Dominican ron from the blending house Oliver & Oliver, presented as a Sistema Solera with 24 on the label. In a solera the oldest cask is never fully emptied, only topped up with younger spirit, so that number points to the oldest component in the blend rather than a fixed age for the bottle.

Molasses based and matured with ex-bourbon influence, then bottled at 40%, it is consistently sweet and soft, with caramel, vanilla and a fruity lift on the nose and palate, plus chocolate adding to the dessert character. The finish echoes the same caramel-vanilla sweetness. This is a smooth, rounded ron where the solera blending and added sweetness define it, not a lean aged spirit. A comforting after-dinner Dominican pour, best understood as a sweet solera blend with the label number read as the oldest component.
