This rum was distilled in 2015 at La Cabana in El Salvador and bottled by Maison Ferrand under the Plantation, now Planteray, label for delicando as a single cask. El Salvador is an emerging Central American origin, and here a seven year old spirit is given a finish in Pineau des Charentes casks, the Cognac region's fortified grape mistelle.
Maison Ferrand double-ages in France and openly uses dosage, so expect a rounded rather than austere profile. A Pineau finish typically brings grapey sweetness, candied fruit and a soft floral lift, and at a single cask 48.6% the rum should carry that richness with a touch more grip than the standard bottling.
