This Plantation single cask is a Trinidad rum distilled in 2009 and finished in a cask linked to Belgian brewer Duvel, released as the Beer Duvel No. 5 collaboration. It carries eleven years of age and is bottled by Maison Ferrand at 45.3%. Trinidad rum in the living island style typically shows chocolate, caramel, vanilla and tropical fruit over a soft, light to medium body. The unusual beer cask finish should add a maltier, more bready and lightly bitter accent around that base, setting it apart from a standard ex-bourbon bottling. In line with the wider Plantation range, expect Ferrand's openly dosed approach rather than a strictly dry pour.
