The Whisky Agency Karibik Rum Delias Christmas Bottling 1993 is a 30 Year Old Cuban ron from the 1993 vintage, a cask strength release from the German bottler The Whisky Agency. Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at 49.6%, it comes from the island's light, column distilled tradition and reads as gentle and approachable despite its age and proof.
The Cuban spirit stays soft even at three decades: caramel, vanilla, oak and roasted notes on the nose, then a sweet, roasted, vanilla and toffee palate, closing on wood, caramel, burnt sugar and sweetness. There is a christmassy, lightly spiced feel with surprisingly little wood for the age, and the sweetness leans comfortable rather than dry. Drinkers find it pleasing and easygoing, working best as a relaxed cigar partner rather than a deep or punchy sipper.
