Rhum J.M Juste Macouba BIO 2022

Rhum J.M Juste Macouba BIO is an organic white from the J.M distillery in far northern Martinique, working the volcanic Mont Pelee terroir within the island's rum AOC. Distilled from fresh pressed cane juice on a creole column still and bottled unsweetened at a cask strength 52.1%, it is agricole in its purest, unaged form.

The character is fresh and herbaceous with a twist. Vegetal cane, florals and a little anise open the nose, the palate stays green and floral with sugarcane and herbs, and a cool anise and menthol streak runs through to a grassy, fresh finish. That minty lift sets it apart from the average blanc and gives it real snap at full proof. An expressive, organic cane juice white for drinkers who want the vivid, vegetal side of agricole, made for Ti Punch or attentive neat tasting.
