A cask-strength single-estate blanc from Carrere under the Marie Louise label, pure Guadeloupe cane juice with citrus peel, pear and floral lift over an oily, honeyed body, all terroir and freshness at a punchy 56%.
Description
This Marie Louise blanc comes from the Carrere distillery in Guadeloupe, bottled by Domaine de Bel Air, and it is a pure cane-juice rum made entirely from fresh-pressed vesou. A young, lightly rested blanc from a 2023 vintage under the Guadeloupe IGP, it is squarely focused on terroir and the expression of a specific cane variety.
The profile is all about fresh cane and texture: the nose offers sugarcane, citrus peel, pear and a floral note, while the palate is rich and oily, sugarcane and honey with pear and a clear onctuous mouthfeel. The finish stays cane-led with citrus and orange. The draw is its emphasis on terroir and a particular cane selection, fermented for richness, giving more body and depth than a typical blanc. Bottled dry at 56%, it has real presence neat for the curious and makes a serious Ti' Punch, a characterful, estate-driven white for drinkers who chase cane purity.
