An 18 year old Colombian single cask aged in ex-bourbon, with chocolate, coffee and walnut over a sweet, nutty palate and a warm, spicy, woody finish at 46%, a richer, drier Dictador.
Description
Dictador Parrafo I Borbon is a Colombian single-cask ron vintaged 2004, drawn from ex-bourbon wood and bottled at a firmer 46%. Column-distilled from molasses in the soft Spanish style, the higher strength and single-cask sourcing give it more grip than the brand's standard blends.
The profile leans on chocolate and coffee. The nose carries chocolate, coffee, walnut and vanilla, the palate follows with chocolate, coffee and a nutty sweetness, and the finish turns spicy, warm and woody. Drinkers note that despite the sweetness it stays balanced and not cloying, with the alcohol present but well judged. At 46% it offers a richer, more structured take on aged Colombian rum, a coffee-and-cocoa sipper for those who want a little more strength and depth from the brand.
