La Favorite's La Digue line bottles rum from a single named parcel of cane, and this 2023 is the latest unaged blanc in the series, distilled from fresh sugar-cane juice under Martinique's AOC. As a single-plot expression it offers a snapshot of one harvest from one piece of land.
The creole column keeps the spirit grassy and congener-rich, and this vintage leans toward the rustic end of the style: fresh cane and citrus up front, floral and fruity, before a distinct earthy, rooty, mineral character takes over the palate and finish. Unsweetened and bottled at 52%, it is fresh and drinkable with a slightly wild, terroir-driven edge. A good Ti' Punch base and a focused neat pour for drinkers who enjoy the mineral, earthy side of Martinique blancs.
