Neisson L’Esprit de Neisson Bio 2022

Neisson is a small, well-regarded family distillery in Martinique (1931), and L'Esprit de Neisson is its renowned overproof blanc, a certified organic 2022 expression distilled from fresh-pressed sugarcane juice and bottled unsweetened in the AOC tradition.

At a formidable 70% this is one of the most intense whites on the market, yet the cane character holds together: a vegetal, sugarcane nose with mint and herbs, then an oily, warm palate with spice and floral notes that carries through the finish. The high proof concentrates the aromatics, and with a little water it opens into a dry, limey, low-sugar Ti Punch in a glass. A benchmark agricole blanc, aromatically powerful and bone dry, that shows just how expressive fresh cane juice can be at full strength.
