Rumclub Private Selection edition forty three, the Deadset Blend, is a multi distillery Caribbean blend assembled by the German house Spirit of Rum and aged sixteen years. It threads the line between easy drinking and genuine character, fruity and approachable but with enough going on to hold attention.

Matured in ex bourbon wood and bottled cask strength at 51.7%, with added sugar unstated, it leads on honey, bright fruit and soft vanilla, then turns drier toward the close with light wood, a touch of salt and a sour cherry, faintly bitter finish. The higher strength gives it body without making it hot or demanding. It drinks well neat for a relaxed pour and stands up in cocktails.
