Tres Hombres bottled this Foursquare under its Edition 65 label, a 2015 Barbados rum from Richard Seale's St Philip distillery brought to Europe by engineless sailing cargo. Foursquare blends in the classic island style, double-retort pot with column rum, and works without added sugar or colour, so this offers the house character at a softer, more accessible strength.
Around eight years old and reduced to 41%, it stays fruity and gently spiced, with apple, vanilla and soft oak on nose and palate. The finish brings caramel, allspice and a little dried fruit. The lower proof and modest age make this a lighter, easygoing expression rather than a heavyweight, but the recognisable Bajan balance is there, an honest and affordable way into Foursquare for relaxed sipping.
