Neisson Rhum Blanc (Clos Godinot) 2023

Neisson is a small family distillery on Martinique, long a favourite among serious agricole drinkers, and this Clos Godinot is a parcellaire bottling drawn from a single plot of cane. Distilled from fresh pressed juice in the agricole style and left unaged, it is a white that puts terroir and cane purity front and centre, bottled at a vivid 52.5%.

The nose is fresh and vegetal over clean sugarcane and ripe fruit, the palate full of cane sap, limey citrus and green vegetal notes, the finish floral with a sweet cane lift. Despite the strength it stays silky and oily on the tongue, intense but remarkably soft, the single plot focus giving it a clear, concentrated character. It is at its best neat for those who want to read the cane, or built into a high end Ti Punch where the citrus and freshness shine.
