Romdeluxe Carrere Wild Series Rum Origin No.5 2023

RomDeluxe is the Danish bottler behind the Wild Series, known for high strength single cask funk, and Origin No.5 is its Guadeloupe cane juice entry, drawn from the Carrere distillery from the 2023 harvest. It is pure cane juice rum, distilled from fresh pressed sugarcane juice in the agricole style and bottled unaged at a powerful 60 percent.

This is the raw, fresh face of cane juice rum at strength. The nose is floral and fresh with clear agricole and grass notes, the palate turns oily and earthy with a warm, spicy weight, and the finish carries citrus and a spicy heat. There is a bright, almost saline citrus lift that makes it lively rather than merely fierce, and the higher proof carries the cane character with real intensity. Unsweetened and unaged, it is a vivid, characterful white for drinkers who like their agricole strong and grassy, equally rewarding neat for the bold or in a punchy Ti Punch.
