Description
La Favorite is a Martinique distillery working from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice on a creole column still. This Exploration No. 7 is a 2022 release rested roughly a year in ex-bourbon casks, placing it at the lightly oaked elevé sous bois end of the island's AOC ladder, with no added sugar.
A short rest in tropical heat tints the spirit while keeping its fresh character, so expect a grassy, vegetal cane core just beginning to pick up vanilla and light oak from the barrel. Bottled at 45%, it offers the snap of a young agricole with a touch of wood. A bright, dry pour, lovely in a Ti Punch or a stirred drink.
