A single-parcel Martinique blanc at 52%, fresh and unsweetened with floral sugarcane, citrus, a saline note and peppery spice, prized for its finesse and length neat or in a Ti Punch.
Description
This Les Parcelles release from Braud & Quennesson is a single-parcel white agricole, distilled at Distillerie du Simon in Martinique from fresh sugarcane juice on a creole column. Drawn from the 2022 harvest and bottled unsweetened at 52%, the parcellaire idea ties the rum to a specific plot of cane, putting terroir at the centre of the story.
A short rest in stainless steel keeps it bright and unaged, the cane character left wide open. The nose is fresh and vegetal with floral sugarcane and citrus, then a palate of cane, citrus and grass carries a distinct saline thread and peppery spice, finishing on citrus, cane and allspice. At 52% it has weight without heat, and it leans toward finesse and length rather than raw power. A dry, characterful blanc for drinkers who already enjoy unaged agricole and want a saline, peppery twist, at its best neat or as the base of a Ti Punch.
