Description
Swell de Spirits Private Garden #4 is a single cask TDL from Trinidad, bottled by the French house Swell de Spirits. It comes from the island's living distillery, which works column stills and local molasses, and at 18 years old this 2005 cask shows the more refined, elegant side of that distillate.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at a strong 62.1% without sweetening, it opens on vanilla, caramelised and nutty notes, then turns to tropical fruit, vanilla and dark chocolate with eucalyptus and honey, closing on polished oak, vanilla and a cooling mint. Despite the high strength, the alcohol is woven in cleanly, giving a dry, composed character with real depth. It suits drinkers who like elegant bourbon cask Trinidad rum and want more power and complexity without losing balance, a confident step up from the gentler TDL releases.
