Description
Romdeluxe Collectors Series 2006 is a Panamanian single-cask ron from the Danish bottler RomDeluxe, best known for its high-strength, no-nonsense releases. Drawn from one ex-bourbon barrel and aged 16 years, it is column-distilled from molasses and bottled at full cask strength.
At 59.1% it carries far more punch than Panama's usual soft, mellow style. The nose is fresh and woody with chocolate and citrus, the palate stays woody, fresh, spicy and fruity, and the finish runs warm with a minty, banana lift over the oak. There is a natural sweetness here from the spirit and cask rather than from dosage, with tasters noting the flavours arrive readily from the first pour. A dry, energetic single cask that shows Panamanian rum with real strength and freshness behind it.
