Bellevue Habitation Bellevue VO

Bellevue is a Marie-Galante distillery, eco-minded and solar-powered, known for supplying bulk rum to independent bottlers as well as releasing under its own Habitation Bellevue name. This VO is unusual in being made from a blend of molasses and fresh sugarcane juice rather than cane juice alone, which gives it a character that bridges the two styles.

Aged three years in ex-bourbon oak, it is markedly fruity: a nose of citrus, vegetal notes, molasses and banana, a sweet palate of wood, tropical fruit and blackcurrant, and a finish of berries, flowers, wood and spice. The molasses share rounds out the dry agricole edge, leaning the rum toward ripe banana, mango and pineapple. Added sugar is not declared. At 45% it is soft and approachable, a fruit-forward island rum for easy neat sipping where its tropical sweetness, drawn from fruit and wood, is the appeal.
