Opportune 1791 Rhum Agricole VSOP

Opportune 1791 is a Martinique agricole bottled under the island's protected AOC, made only from fresh pressed sugar cane juice. At four years of age it qualifies for the VSOP tier, a step beyond the entry vieux grade.

Distilled on a creole column still that runs deliberately low to keep the cane congeners in the spirit, this is the source of agricole's distinctive character. Tropical ageing in ex-bourbon oak adds vanilla, spice and toasted oak to the grassy, peppery core. Bottled unsweetened at 40%, it is a dry, food friendly agricole well suited to a Ti Punch or a stirred drink.
