Levy Lane T.D.L Tamosi 2000

Tamosi is the rum line from bottler Levy Lane, and this expression goes to Trinidad Distillers Limited, the column still house behind Angostura, for a 2000 vintage matured 22 years. Drawn from a single ex-bourbon cask, it shows the more polished, age-rounded face of Trinidad rather than the island's lighter standard pour.

Distilled clean on the column still from Trinidadian molasses and tropically aged in ex-bourbon oak, it lands soft, fragrant and elegant. The aroma carries vanilla, wood, tropical fruit and herbs, the palate brings vanilla, creme brulee and a fresh, fruity lift with intense lychee, and the finish turns woody, minty and herbal. The 57% strength is smoothly integrated rather than fiery, and the rum reads dry and refined, a delicate, bourbon-cask-driven take on mature Trinidad for drinkers ready to explore the island's older single casks.
