Description
Clement is one of Martinique's defining names, a 300 year old estate whose rums fall under the island's protected AOC, made only from fresh pressed sugar cane juice with no added sugar permitted. This Terre Caraibe bottling is raised in large oak foudres, which lend slow, gentle contact with the wood.
Foudre ageing tends to soften an agricole while keeping its grassy backbone intact. Expect the house style here, a dry spirit with the herbaceous, peppery cane character of Martinique rounded by light vanilla and toasted oak, approachable and unforced at 40%.
