Nobilis Rum bottled this single cask Diamond from 2013 off the Savalle still, with 8 years of age. The Savalle is the cleanest of the Guyanese stills, and here it is caught young and at full power, showing the still's character fresh and a little rough rather than smoothed by long ageing.
Matured in ex-bourbon and bottled unsweetened at 64.7%, it is intense and benefits from time. Coffee, cocoa and roasted nuts lead, with tropical fruit and herbal notes behind and a peppery, woody finish. The youth and high proof give it a fresh, slightly raw edge, so airing and a splash of water bring it into focus.
