Sea Shepherd Rum

Sea Shepherd Rum is a charity linked Caribbean blend, an accessible, sweetened bottling at 40% drawing on island stock including Jamaican and Barbadian components, with a Worthy Park influence apparent. It is built for easy drinking and a good cause rather than depth, and it makes its sweetness plain.

The nose is soft and a little muted, lightly spiced and fruity with a whisper of smoke hinting at the Jamaican element. The palate brings tropical fruit, caramel and gentle spice, but it reads quite sweet and the added sugar noticeably flattens the character. It works as a simple, undemanding sipper or, better still, as a mixer where the sweetness is less exposed.
