A young Guyanese blend from Heimat Distillers, three years at 40%, gently chocolate-forward with light fruit and young wood, gently sweet and easy rather than punchy, a soft pour for newcomers.
Description
Heimat Distillers built this Ramero Double Blend from Guyanese molasses rum drawn off both pot and column stills, the two ends of the Demerara spectrum married young. At three years and 40% it is the gentlest entry in this set, aimed at easy drinking rather than the heavy heritage-still character of the long-aged bottlings.
Matured in ex-bourbon, it leads with chocolate, light fruit and young wood on the nose, then turns woody with tobacco and burnt sugar across a soft palate, finishing woody, mild and a touch rough. It drinks slightly sweet and relaxed, the youth and lower strength keeping it light in body. Honest about what it is, this is a pleasant, low-effort pour that suits drinkers who enjoy soft, chocolate-leaning rums and do not mind a lighter frame, rather than those chasing concentration or funk.
