A 33 year old Enmore single cask from Samaroli, distilled in 1988 off the last wooden Coffey still on Earth, matured in ex-bourbon and bottled unsweetened at 50%, carrying the cedar, brown sugar and soft smoke that still is known for.
Description
This is a serious piece of Demerara history. Enmore's wooden Coffey is the last operating wooden continuous still in the world, and Samaroli bottled this 1988 vintage as a single cask at a notable 33 years of age. It was matured in an ex-bourbon barrel, unsweetened, and reduced to a composed 50%.
Enmore sits lighter and more elegant than the heavier Port Mourant profile, yet it stays distinctly woody. Expect the cedar and pencil shavings of the greenheart still alongside brown sugar, soft spice and a wisp of smoke, deepened by more than three decades in oak. Samaroli's purist, continental aged approach and reduced proof are built to let that rare wooden Coffey character speak without heat getting in the way.
