Description
A Diamond REV single cask from Denmark's 1423 under their transparent S.B.S label, distilled in 2006 and matured fifteen years. The REV is one of the heavier, woodier Guyana profiles, and this bottling captures its dark, dried-fruit core at full strength.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at 56.4%, it shows dried fruit, caramelised brown sugar, black tea, oak and herbs, with subtle minty and mineral touches. The body is dense and the finish long, running woody and faintly bitter with licorice and coffee. For drinkers who like dark, tannic Demeraras but balk at thirty-year prices, this offers a lot of classic REV character at full strength, with real punch and genuine value behind it.
