Ron Larimar PX Sherry Cask Finish is a Dominican rum given a finishing period in Pedro Ximenez casks, the sweetest of the sherry styles. Built on column-distilled molasses spirit and carrying a stated five years, it sits in the soft Spanish-style tradition of the Dominican Republic.
A PX finish in the house style usually adds raisin, fig and a dark, syrupy sweetness over the vanilla and caramel base of an aged ron. At 40% the result should be rounded and dessert-leaning. Added sugar is not disclosed, and with a sweet-sherry finish on top, this is best approached as a smooth, after-dinner pour rather than a dry sipper.
