Chairman‘s Reserve Finest Rum

Chairman's Reserve is the flagship range of Saint Lucia Distillers, and this Finest expression is a five year old blend at 40%. The house draws on both pot and column stills, and this approachable bottling is widely regarded as strong value, an easy and reliable everyday rum.

The blend is molasses based, distilled on pot and column stills and aged in ex-bourbon oak, giving a nose of vanilla, cola, fruit and light wood. The palate is gentle with vanilla, spice, oak and raisin, leaning toward butterscotch, and the alcohol sits quietly at this strength. Sugar is undeclared, though several drinkers find it a touch sweet and simple for their taste. As a soft, mild, beginner friendly sipper at a fair price it does very well, and it mixes cleanly too.
