Licorera Cihuatán Obsidiana

Cihuatan Obsidiana is a distillery bottling from El Salvador, a soft and accessible rum built for easy, relaxed drinking. The nose runs vanilla, caramel and tropical fruit, sweet and inviting, with a clear nutty, almond character that gives it some identity.

Bottled at 40%, the palate is sweet, round and vanilla led with citrus lift, finishing on caramelised sugar and soft wood. Added sugar is unstated, but the dessert like sweetness is evident. The almond and nut notes, along with hints of dried fruit and chocolate, keep it from feeling flat, though intensity and structure stay modest. It is at its best as a smooth after dinner pour or in a simple mixed drink.
