Kingston 62 is Appleton Estate's bar-and-cocktail line, and this white comes from Jamaica's biggest distillery, J. Wray and Nephew in St. Elizabeth, a blend of pot and column stills that gives the smooth, approachable house signature rather than the loud high-ester funk of the island's heavyweight estates. It is unsweetened and bottled at a soft 40%.

Lightly rested and clean, it opens sweet with caramel, vanilla and a gentle profile, the palate turns to coffee, vanilla, hazelnut and cocoa, and the finish brings coconut, warmth, fruit and a touch of spice. The mild strength keeps it easy and unobtrusive, and tasters note it reads gently for 40%, with vanilla and caramel leading.
