A cask strength Guadeloupe agricole from Longueteau, the island’s oldest family owned estate, pressed from fresh sugar cane juice on a creole column and bottled unsweetened at a firm 48.2 percent.
Description
Longueteau is the oldest family owned agricole distillery still running on Guadeloupe, founded in 1895 and working entirely from fresh pressed sugar cane juice on a creole column still. Concerto sits in its range as an unsweetened, cask strength expression bottled at 48.2 percent.
Guadeloupe falls under the looser IGP rather than the Martinique AOC, but Longueteau's house style is firmly cane led and dry. The record points toward a vanilla rich, spiced and lightly honeyed profile with plenty of citrus over the grassy cane core. Unsweetened and bottled strong, this is a dry, aromatic agricole that takes a splash of water well and suits both neat sipping and a robust Ti Punch.
