Grays Arcane Cane Crush is an agricole-style white from Mauritius, made by Grays from fresh sugar-cane juice rather than molasses. Mauritius lies outside the protected agricole appellation, so this is cane-juice rum in spirit rather than an AOC bottling, drawn from a blend of pot and column distillation and held at a moderate 43.8%.

The unaged spirit puts the green, grassy side of fresh cane front and centre, with a nose of sugarcane, citrus and a vegetal edge leading into a fresh, grassy palate and a sugarcane finish that turns lightly bitter. At 43.8% it stays bright and approachable without heavy funk or high heat, an easy way into the lighter agricole style. It sips cleanly cool, but really comes alive squeezed into a daiquiri or a fresh, cane-forward cocktail.
